Featured Teacher Bios:
Alysia Kraft - Alysia Kraft is an award-winning songwriter and a fearless live performer who loves (more than anything) to write songs with other human beings.
An avid lyricist, beatmaker, and producer, Alysia will lead the Songwriting Camps at FMS this summer, guiding a collaborative song creation process fueled by theenergy, taste, and storytelling of the group. At the workshop's conclusion, all participants will have contributed to a fully-produced new song to share with theirfriends and loved ones.
Mykayla Fitzpatrick - Mykayla Fitzpatrick graduated with her BM in Voice Performance in 2023 from Colorado State University, where she performed Hansel and Gretel (Gretel), TheTender Land (Laurie), Cosi fan tutte (Despina), and The Old Maid and the Thief (Laetitia). She has presented research on pedagogy for voices transitioningthrough hormone replacement therapy, and teaches privately in her Fort Collins voice studio. Recently, she has performed with Loveland Opera Theater,performed and stage directed with Boulder Opera Company, and assistant stage directed at Quisisana Resort (Maine) and for Music on Site (Kansas). In her freetime, she paints, spends time with friends, and bakes.
Old Man Saxon - Old Man Saxon is a nationally recognized rapper, performer, and educator, known for his sharp lyrics, storytelling, and connection with audiencesof all ages. His music has been featured on shows like HBO’s Silicon Valley, and his TEDx Talk on self-worth has reached wide audiences withits message of resilience and authenticity. Beyond the mic, Saxon (real name Saxon Kincy) is passionate about using hip hop as a tool forhealing and growth. As co-founder of the non-profit Three Things, he leads workshops where students use songwriting, goal-setting, andperformance to reflect on their lives and envision their futures. His Healing Futures Project has been implemented in schools across Colorado,helping young people find their voice and their purpose.
Whether on stage or in the classroom, Old Man Saxon brings creativity, humor, and heart to everything he does—reminding students that theirstories matter and their futures are worth imagining.
Emmanuel Bonilla - Emmanuel Bonilla is the director of choirs and modern band at Lincoln Middle School in Fort Collins. He graduated from Colorado State University in 2023 with hisBachelor of Music, concentration in Music Education. Emmanuel is also the lead instructor for Irish Elementary School's after-school mariachi program. In additionto teaching music, he has the opportunity to work in the classrooms of his colleagues, where he has gained teaching experience through a wide array of subjects.Emmanuel is passionate about building rapport with students of diverse backgrounds and working with economically disadvantaged populations. Outside of work,Emmanuel makes and performs music with local musicians, playing drums for two bands, as well as being a member of a mariachi group. Emmanuel is excited tobe able to lead summer workshops at FMS and looks forward to working with new students!
