Who can benefit from Music Therapy?
Children, adolescents, adults and the elderly with mental health needs, developmental and learning disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease and other aging related conditions. Substance abuse problems, brain injuries, physical disabilities and acute and chronic pain including mothers in labor. (Source AMTA)
Our Music Therapists meet high standards and qualifications.
Music Therapists hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in Music Therapy from American Music Therapy Association approved colleges and universities. A clinical internship comprised of 1200 hours of training is also required. Upon completion of bachelor’s degree, Music Therapists are eligible to sit for the board certification exam to obtain the credential MT-BC from the Certification Board for Music Therapists. Music Therapists follow AMTA Standards of Clinical Practice, Code of Ethics, and Professional Competencies.
