Foundation Music School has an opening for a Group Piano Teacher and/or private piano instructor in mid-May 2018.
Group Piano responsibilities: The group piano teacher would be responsible for teaching 2-3 Keyboard classes per week. Group classes are 60 minutes in length and typically have 5-7 children in each class. Lesson plans would be provided each week and guidance from the group piano coordinator would be available.
Private teaching: We are currently seeking private piano instructors for approximately 10-12 hours per week. Private lesson load can be adjusted, depending on candidate availability and number of interested students.
Compensation: Between $23-27 per hour, commensurate with education and experience. Teaching hours are paid hourly.
Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in music (piano pedagogy, piano performance, music education with piano emphasis) is required. Teaching experience of at least two years at the beginner-early intermediate level is preferred but not required. Our ideal candidate would be energetic, able to communicate clearly with parents, knowledgeable in multiple approaches to teaching piano, creative, organized and a team-player.
